Job Description
Valerio's Bakeshop has been serving the community of National City and San Diego county since 1988 . We are a family owned and operated Filipino bakery that has been passed down from generation to generation. We specialize in Filipino baked goods and desserts. We pride ourselves in being the best to curate freshly baked Pan de Sal, Cheese Balls, Siopao, and more. All of our products are hand-made in-house and baked fresh daily. We promote a supportive work environment to encourage those to strive for excellence. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of coffee, tea, boba, and specialty beverages with precision and flair Operate POS systems like Toast POS to process transactions accurately and efficiently Engage with customers warmly, taking orders, answering questions, and providing product recommendations to enhance their experience Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food handling and preparation stations Manage cash handling duties with accuracy, including cashiering and basic math calculations for transactions Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure quality and compliance Assist in inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product levels throughout shifts Experience Previous barista experience or food service background is preferred but not required; we welcome motivated learners eager to grow their skills Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS is a plus Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining quality service Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude that creates a positive environment Basic math proficiency for cash handling, sales calculations, and retail math tasks in a fast-paced setting Knowledge of food safety standards, food preparation techniques, and proper food handling practices in the food industry is advantageous Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
