RESPONSIBILITIES
Prepare espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and other café beverages Provide warm and efficient customer service Take customer orders and accurately operate the POS system Prepare and serve pastries, snacks, and light food items Keep the espresso bar, counters, equipment, and customer area clean Restock cups, milk, ingredients, food, and other supplies Follow drink recipes, portion standards, and food-safety procedures Complete opening and closing duties Monitor inventory and communicate when supplies are running low Help create a peaceful and welcoming environment that reflects PLUR's values Work independently and responsibly during scheduled shifts Communicate clearly with teammates and contribute to a supportive, respectful workplace
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous barista, café, restaurant, or customer-service experience preferred Experience using a commercial espresso machine is strongly preferred Friendly, dependable, punctual, and professional Able to follow recipes and maintain consistent drink quality Comfortable working with the public in a busy library environment Able to multitask while keeping the café clean and organized Able to operate a POS system and handle cash accurately Must have or obtain a California Food Handler Card Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds and stand for most of the shift Must have reliable transportation and arrive on time Enjoys working as part of a team and treating coworkers and guests with respect
AVAILABILITY
We are hiring for weekday and possible weekend shifts during library operating hours. Applicants with flexible availability, especially for opening and closing shifts, will receive priority consideration. We value team members who communicate their availability clearly, arrive prepared, and help create dependable coverage for the entire café team.
