Across two neighborhoods, The Den brings together café hospitality, intentionally designed spaces for work, play, and connection, and programming to meet family needs for both caregivers and child. The Den is not childcare or a traditional play gym. It is a place where parents and children spend meaningful time side by side - a community built to help modern families gather, grow, restore, and belong. About The Clubhouse The SoBo Clubhouse is located on South Broadway in Englewood. The members-only Clubhouse expands The LoHi Corner experience with a café, co-working spaces, private offices, quiet lounges, a private outdoor courtyard, and thoughtfully designed environments where parents can focus, children can socialize, and both can feel at home. The Barista I team will help establish the hospitality, rhythms, and sense of belonging that define this new location. About the role The Barista I is The Den's foundational hospitality role and a key part of opening The Clubhouse at SoBo. The Clubhouse is anticipated to open October 2026. Before opening, employees will participate in paid training and pre-opening preparation focused on hospitality standards, café operations, membership systems, and team practice. Once open, Barista I employees will create warm, attentive member experiences while operating the café, supporting check-in, maintaining a clean and welcoming space, and helping families understand how to use and enjoy the Clubhouse. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys caring for people, works well in an active environment, takes pride in consistent execution, and wants to develop strong skills in hospitality, coffee, sales, and family-centered service. What you'll do Guest and member hospitality Welcome every guest and family with warmth, awareness, and genuine care rooted in kindness. Help first-time visitors feel oriented by clearly explaining café service, lounge access, memberships, programming, and relevant space expectations. Use attentive language and maintain appropriate professional boundaries in a family-centered environment. Respond to routine questions and concerns calmly and confidently; involve leadership when an issue requires additional authority or support. Notice opportunities to make the experience easier, more personal, or more comfortable for guests. Café and product execution Take accurate orders and quickly prepare beverages and food according to The Den's recipes, quality standards, and service expectations. Develop and maintain working knowledge of espresso preparation, milk steaming, drink definitions, seasonal offerings, food handling, and allergen procedures. Keep the bar, café, service areas, equipment, dishes, and supplies clean, organized, stocked, and ready for service. Complete assigned opening, mid-shift, pre-close, closing, and cash-handling responsibilities accurately. Lounge, memberships, and programming Build knowledge of memberships, programming, events and rentals to answer questions and provide curated, helpful recommendations for each individual. Support guest understanding of policies and hold boundaries with warmth, clarity, and consistency. Help prepare and reset the lounge, studio, café, and event spaces as assigned. Operations and teamwork Complete cleaning, restocking, and facility tasks assigned during the shift. Follow standard operating procedures, food-safety requirements, checklists, and leadership direction. Communicate schedule concerns, incidents, guest experinces, supply needs, and incomplete work promptly through the designated Slack channel. Contribute to a respectful, reliable team environment and participate actively in training, meetings, and feedback. Ask questions when unsure and remain open to coaching and continued skill development. What success looks like Guests feel welcomed, informed, and cared for. Drinks, food, check-ins, transactions, and shift tasks are completed accurately and consistently. The café and lounge remain clean, safe, organized, and guest-ready. Communication is timely, professional, and proactive. The employee demonstrates growing confidence in The Den's systems, offerings, service language, and expectations. Who you are
