We are a warm, inviting space offering high-quality coffee, tea, and specialty beverages, along with a curated selection of books and bookish merchandise. The Wicked Press is seeking a Part-Time and a Seasonal Part-Time dedicated and energetic Baristas. The ideal candidates will have a passion for coffee, a love of reading books, and excellent customer service skills. These roles are crucial in ensuring high-quality beverages, maintaining a welcoming atmosphere, and upholding brand standards.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and serve a variety of quality coffee beverages, teas, and specialty drinks.
- Work the POS system and handle sales of books, beverages, and other merchandise.
- Ensure exceptional customer service by greeting customers, resolving issues, and creating a friendly, upbeat atmosphere.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with health and safety regulations, including following all cleaning procedures.
- Restock beverages, books, and other merchandise as needed.
- Ensure a positive and friendly work environment, while being a team player.
- Perform and understand opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain a healthy and consistent work environment by following organization standards.
- Help with store displays and special projects as needed.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- Previous experience as a barista is preferred.
- Must have or be willing to immediately obtain valid food handler certificate in CT.
- Knowledge of the book industry and popular authors is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment, and handle pressure with composure.
- Experience with computer systems, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and inventory software.
- Strong organizational skills and a keen eye for detail.
- Passion for coffee, books, and customer satisfaction.
- Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including weekends and holidays.
