Essential Duties and Responsibilities Prepare all coffee and other beverages for readiness and service. Responsible for preparing, maintaining, cleaning and operating espresso machine and all other equipment. Performs all responsibilities associated with cashiering. stations clean and neat and organized. Responsible for all opening/closing procedures of shift. Greets customers as they arrive and inform them of any ongoing specials or promotions. Takes order from customers and provides genuine hospitality. Thanking customers as they leave and inviting them back. Ability and control of transactions related with cash and credit cards. Be advised of any ongoing food and drink specials as well as general knowledge of Gulfstream Park property and Guest Services Resources in order to respond to guest inquiries to the best of their ability. Be advised of week-to-week work schedule and any changes made according to business needs. Follow the directives of all department SOPs and policies regarding uniforms, communication, and work duties. Responsible for maintaining the highest standards of customer service. Responsible for carrying out all duties with safety as a priority. Qualifications A high school diploma is required. Strong coffee/barista knowledge. Must have excellent organizational, interpersonal and operations skills and excellent attention to detail. Must be able to perform transactions smoothly and effectively. Must be comfortable and trustworthy with cash. Ability to work independently or as part of a team. Must be able to quickly prepare and serve a variety of coffee recipes. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to risks associated with travel between buildings and back and forth to other areas as may be required due to business demands. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, including second-hand environmental smoke. The employee may be exposed to the risks associated in attempting to resolve issues with extremely irate or difficult guests or staff members. The noise level in the work environment varies from light to moderate.
