In this role, you will help create a welcoming, relaxed, and upbeat environment for our guests while preparing high-quality coffee, espresso drinks, kava, botanical beverages, and light food items. We are looking for team members who enjoy connecting with people, can work well in a fast-paced environment, and take pride in delivering great service. Whether you have previous barista, kava, café, or customer service experience — or you are excited to learn — this is a great opportunity to be part of a growing café and kava bar community. Responsibilities Prepare and serve coffee, espresso drinks, kava, botanical beverages, teas, smoothies, and other menu items with consistency and care. Greet guests warmly, take orders accurately, and provide a positive customer experience from start to finish. Educate customers on menu items, including kava, coffee drinks, specials, and other offerings. Operate the POS system, process payments, and handle cash and card transactions accurately. Maintain cleanliness and organization behind the bar, in the café area, and throughout guest spaces. Follow food safety, beverage handling, and sanitation guidelines. Assist with light food preparation, restocking, and keeping products and supplies organized. Work efficiently during busy periods while maintaining quality and attention to detail. Upsell featured drinks, food items, specials, and promotions when appropriate. Help create a fun, welcoming, and community-focused atmosphere for both new and returning guests. Support team members and contribute to a positive work environment. Requirements Previous experience as a barista, kava tender, bartender, server, or café team member is preferred but not required. Strong customer service skills and a friendly, outgoing personality. Willingness to learn about kava, coffee, botanical beverages, and the Neo Coffee and Kava menu. Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment. Basic math skills for processing orders and handling payments. Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weight when needed. Must be available to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
