Milltown Coffee is an exciting feature of Evangel's renovation and Reach Initiative. Milltown Coffee exists to reach beyond Sundays by opening our facilities to the public seven days a week and providing a welcoming environment and a unique coffee experience. Milltown Coffee is attached to Evangel's building and overlooks Milltown Square, which includes the public park. We also exist to reach beyond our borders. Milltown Coffee will donate all profits to support missional efforts and missionaries across the globe each year. The Milltown Coffee Shift Lead delivers exceptional experiences to our team members and guests every single day. They oversee the efficiency and effectiveness of the team on shift with the goal of delivering excellence in all areas of service and hospitality. They take pride in developing our team into hospitality experts that can't help but provide exceptional experiences to our guests.ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Welcome guests and orient them to Milltown Coffee service experience. Act as Person In Charge in the absence of the GM/AM. Creatively solve problems including but not limited to staff scheduling issues, guest relations, or systemic service problems. Report challenges, problems, etc to GM/AM. Manage overall workflow of the cafe, ensuring breaks are provided, team members are equipped to succeed, and tasks are delegated appropriately. Engage with and listen to each guest, anticipate needs and exceed expectations with joy and attention to detail. Provide attentive service by checking with patrons to guarantee they are enjoying their experience and take immediate action to correct any issues. Ensure that all roles and checklists are completed and initialed by team members. Provide proper, on-the-fly training to team members when opportunities arise. Adheres to all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures. Adherence to Milltown Coffee cash handling and payment processing procedures. Maintain a clean, put-together, professional appearance by meeting and exceeding all Milltown Coffee dress standards. Add to team culture by showing up as yourself, setting goals with AM for leadership development, encouraging other team members, helping team members, and intentionally avoiding gossip. Adheres to all company codes of conduct.REQUIREMENTS
Must have basic knowledge of dining and service procedures Strong communication skills (both written and verbal) Highly-energetic, self-motivated, goal oriented and dependable Must be able to work a flexible schedule including opening, closing, weekends and holidaysPHYSICAL DEMANDS / WORK ENVIRONMENT
Must be able to sit/stand for 8 hours. Walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lbs.
