Job Description
Job Summary We're growing, opening a second location, and we're looking for experienced baristas who are ready to take the next step into a leadership role! Our Barista Shift Leads will train now at our Jefferson location, Bistro to Go, and be ready to step into a Shift Lead position when our new location opens in October. You'll also help us welcome and train the additional baristas joining our team for the new location. We take our coffee seriously, but we take hospitality just as seriously. We're looking for friendly, energetic people who genuinely enjoy serving others and understand that great service is about more than taking an order. Think Chick-fil-A-level hospitality with a great local coffee shop feel—warm, efficient, attentive and personal. What You'll Do Prepare consistently great espresso drinks, coffees and other beverages Lead by example and help keep the team moving during busy shifts Create a welcoming experience by greeting customers, learning our regulars and making people feel genuinely appreciated Help train and coach new baristas on recipes, drink standards, workflow and customer service Support the manager with opening and closing procedures and day-to-day shift operations Make sure drinks and food are prepared correctly, quickly and presented well Keep the coffee bar, equipment and customer areas clean, stocked and organized Help monitor product levels and communicate when supplies need to be restocked Handle cash and POS transactions accurately Step in wherever needed—our best leaders aren't afraid to jump in and help the team Help maintain our standards for cleanliness, food safety, quality and hospitality What We're Looking For Previous barista experience is required. This position is intended for someone who already understands espresso preparation and coffee shop workflow and is ready for more responsibility. Restaurant supervisory, shift lead or management experience is strongly preferred. We're especially looking for someone who: Is dependable and shows up ready to work Is comfortable taking the lead when things get busy Can give direction while still being a supportive teammate Works quickly without sacrificing quality or hospitality Has strong attention to detail Enjoys teaching and helping newer team members succeed Is naturally friendly and comfortable talking with customers Takes pride in a clean, organized workspace Can solve problems and make good decisions without needing constant direction Genuinely enjoys coffee, hospitality and serving people We're a locally owned, growing company, and we want people who are excited to grow with us.
