Job Description
Overview Join our awesome team at Maude's! We're looking for a capable and competent team player, able to multitask and operate efficiently in a high paced cafe. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of drinks including espresso and tea drinks, ensuring quality and consistency. Operate POS systems such as Square to process retail sales transactions accurately and efficiently. Handle cash transactions, process payments, and give correct change while maintaining balanced cash drawers. Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including food prep stations, seating areas, and equipment, adhering to food safety standards. Assist customers with menu selections, answer questions about beverages and food offerings, and provide friendly service. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt drink preparation and customer satisfaction. Follow proper food handling procedures during beverage preparation and food service to ensure safety standards are met. Skills At least 1 year experience as a Barista with understanding of beverage preparation, latte art, and knowledge of coffee apparati - such as calibrating a grinder. Experience with various coffee brewing techniques, beverage service, and café operations is highly desirable. Familiarity with POS systems for efficient sales processing. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests and coworkers. Punctuality and strong time management skills are necessary. Basic math skills for cash handling, processing transactions, and managing sales accurately. Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Hours Multiple shift options and flexibility are available. 1 closing shift per week is required. Cafe hours 7:00am-5:30pm 7 days a week. Shifts vary.
