As needed | Primarily Saturdays Swallow Coffee Company is hiring a reliable, energetic, and customer-focused Part-Time Event Barista to join our growing mobile coffee catering team! We are a mobile coffee and beverage catering company offering self-service beverage stations, full-service catering, delivery/drop-off service, and a mobile coffee cart. We cater a variety of events throughout the area, including corporate events, weddings, festivals, celebrations, private events, and more. What You'll Do This position involves more than making coffee. Our event baristas help with the entire event process, including: Transporting equipment and supplies to events Loading and unloading the coffee cart and event materials Setting up the coffee cart and/or beverage station Preparing and serving beverages Providing friendly and professional customer service Keeping the service area clean and organized Breaking down and packing equipment after the event Loading equipment and supplies for return Helping ensure everything is safely returned and stored Representing the company professionally at each event Pay & Tips $14-$16/hour + tips, depending on experience Starting pay will be based on previous barista experience, event experience, reliability, and overall qualifications. There may also be opportunities to advance to a Lead Barista position as you gain experience and demonstrate reliability. Lead Baristas will have opportunities to independently manage events. Schedule This is an as-needed position, not a guaranteed weekly schedule. When an event is booked, we will provide advance notice with the event date, location, hours, and responsibilities. Most events take place on Saturdays, however, weekday events will occur Events may vary in length depending on the type of event You must be comfortable with occasional event-based work and varying schedules Availability will be discussed before you are scheduled for an event We do not currently cater on Sundays Requirements Reliable transportation Valid driver's license Current auto insurance Ability and willingness to travel throughout St. Joseph County, Indiana, including South Bend, Mishawaka, and surrounding areas Ability to safely lift, carry, load, and unload coffee equipment, supplies, and the mobile coffee cart Reliable and punctual Strong customer service skills Professional and friendly personality Comfortable working in a fast-paced event environment Able to work independently and as part of a team Comfortable helping with physical setup and breakdown Must be dependable when accepting an event shift Mileage & Travel When applicable, business mileage driven using your personal vehicle will be reimbursed according to our mileage policy.
