None Job Purpose Promotes coffee consumption by educating customers; preparing and serving a variety of coffee drinks, along with pastries and other food items. Duties and responsibilities

• Working in a fast paced, high volume café.
• Welcomes customers by determining their coffee interests and needs.
• Educates customers by presenting and explaining the coffee drink menu; answering questions.
• Sells coffees and coffee grinding and brewing equipment by explaining differences in coffee beans and coffee preparation machines; demonstrating how brewing equipment operates.
• Receives drink/food orders and payment.
• Prepares and sells coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques.
• Clear and reset tables in bar area (when applicable)
• Make recommendations, and answer questions regarding beverages.
• Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment; maintaining supplies, pastries, and other food items for coffee bar.
• Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.
• Maintains clean and safe work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations.
• Improves quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes; implementing changes; maintaining and improving the appearance of the store, coffee bar and exterior spaces of café property.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintaining personal networks.
• Enhances coffee shop reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
• Learns the names and personally recognize our regulars.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience minimum is ideal. Currently enrolled high school students encouraged to apply. Must be available evenings and/or weekends.

Pay:

$15.00 - $18.00 per hour
