The cafe is getting a light remodel soon and we intend to restart full time roasting in this location over the winter. If that sounds exciting to you, to work in a cafe next to the roasting team as they are producing and sampling coffees, offering bags that were roasted the same day, we need you to apply. The space has amazing long-time customers and a simple program focused on coffee basics, espresso, our patented cold brew and drafts. No bagels, no ice cream, no sandwiches to prep, just coffee and espresso. We are looking for an individual with strong barista experience and good latte art skills, who can dial in, but wants to work in a space that is chill for a change. Job Summary We are seeking friendly baristas who are willing to learn about coffee. You will work with our La Marzocco Linea PB, serve short espresso drinks, draft cold brew and nitro, and light pastry fare (from our bakery location). Most importantly, you will be talking up fresh bags of single origin coffees as well as our cold brew coffee totes and cans. Our unique draft lattes and syrups (from our Cambridge kitchen) make for balanced and easy to drink options. Responsibilities Greet customers warmly and take their orders accurately using Toast POS (Point of Sale) Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, a selection of directly sourced teas, and espresso drinks according to established recipes and standards. Handle cash transactions efficiently, ensuring proper cash handling and cashiering procedures are followed. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including drink preparation stations, seating areas, and equipment. Ensure food safety and proper food handling practices are adhered to at all times. Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining quality standards. Use down time to effectively restock and organize. Assist with basic coffee preparation tasks and restocking supplies as needed to support smooth operations. Experience Previous barista experience in an espresso bar or coffee shop environment is preferred. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively. Knowledge of food safety regulations and proper food handling techniques. Ability to perform basic math for cash handling, retail math, and sales transactions accurately. Experience in serving food and beverages in a fast-paced setting is a plus. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during peak hours.
