In this role, you'll be the welcoming face of our café, crafting delicious matcha beverages, serving desserts with a smile, and creating memorable experiences for every guest. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help foster a lively, friendly atmosphere that keeps customers coming back. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in matcha preparation, retail math, and food handling while working in a dynamic environment. Responsibilities Prepare and serve high-quality matcha beverages and food items efficiently and accurately using POS systems such as Toast POS. Greet customers warmly, take orders, and provide exceptional customer service to ensure a positive experience. Handle cash transactions accurately, including cash handling, cashiering, and basic math calculations for sales and change. Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in accordance with food handling regulations; assist with food preparation when needed. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure prompt service and smooth operations. Upsell products and promote café offerings to maximize sales opportunities. Support team members in maintaining a clean, organized workspace that adheres to health and safety protocols. Experience Previous barista experience or food service background is preferred but not required; we value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn! Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast POS is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and order accuracy. Knowledge of food safety practices, food preparation, and proper food handling procedures. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently through excellent time management skills. Experience working in the food industry or café environment is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate.
