Job Description
Overview Join our Blake Orchard team as a Barista / Team Member and become the heart of our locally owned smoothie and coffee shop. As a Blake Orchard Barista/Team Membee you will craft made-from-scratch beverages, deliver exceptional customer service, and ensure a clean and inviting space for our customers. Your enthusiasm for quality food and beverages will play an integral role in creating a memorable experience that will keep customers coming back. Whether you're passionate about coffee, food service, or community interaction, this position offers a great opportunity to grow your skills in a fast-paced, friendly work environment. Duties Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including coffee, tea, smoothies, and specialty drinks with precision and care. Operate a POS system . Handle retail sales transactions, including cash handling, processing cash and card payments, and giving correct change. Maintain cleanliness of the café area by regularly cleaning equipment, counters, tables, and food prep zones to meet food safety standards. Assist customers with food and beverage selections while providing friendly, attentive service to enhance their experience. Follow proper food handling procedures during beverage preparation and food service to ensure safety and quality. Support team members during busy periods by managing multiple tasks such as serving customers, restocking supplies, and maintaining a tidy workspace. Experience Previous experience in food service or café environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm to learn is key. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction processing. Knowledge of food safety practices and proper food handling procedures. Experience with beverage preparation techniques typical of barista roles or coffee industry settings. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during high-volume periods.
