Overview Join our vibrant café team as our opening Barista and kick-start each day with energy and enthusiasm! In this dynamic role, you will be the first one in to open the shop, welcome customers, prepare fresh coffee beverages, and set the tone for a positive, lively atmosphere. Your passion for excellent customer service and coffee craftsmanship will shine through as you open the café, ensuring everything is ready for a busy day ahead. Duties Open the café each morning (5:30am), preparing the workspace, brewing equipment, and supplies for service. Greet customers warmly, taking their orders accurately using POS systems. Prepare and serve high-quality coffee drinks, beverages, and light food items following company standards. Manage cash handling and cashiering duties with precision, ensuring accurate transactions and register balancing. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food prep stations and seating areas. Follow food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures to ensure a safe environment for customers and staff. Assist with inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product freshness throughout your shift. Qualifications Prior barista experience or strong coffee knowledge is highly preferred; enthusiasm for coffee culture is a plus! Proven customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests. Experience operating POS systems; basic math skills for cash handling and retail math are essential. Excellent time management skills to efficiently open the café while managing multiple tasks simultaneously. Knowledge of food safety standards, food preparation techniques, and proper food handling procedures. Ability to stand for extended periods, lift moderate loads, and work early morning shifts reliably. Strong communication skills paired with a proactive attitude to create an inviting atmosphere for customers and team members alike.
