Golden Bell is a one-of-a-kind community coffee shop located near the shores of Torch Lake. Designed as a welcoming gathering place for both locals and visitors, Golden Bell offers a thoughtfully curated coffee program featuring Panther Coffee, seasonal food offerings, and a collection of locally inspired retail products. We believe hospitality is about more than serving food and beverages. It is about creating meaningful experiences, building community, and making people feel genuinely welcome. As we launch this exciting new concept, we are seeking an experienced Coffee Program & Hospitality Manager to help bring the vision to life.

Whether you are an experienced barista or someone who loves hospitality and is eager to learn, we provide training and opportunities for growth within our team.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Barista & Hospitality Team Member serves as a key ambassador of the Golden Bell guest experience. This role is responsible for preparing and serving beverages, engaging guests with warmth and professionalism, maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the café, supporting retail sales, and helping create a welcoming atmosphere for every guest who walks through our doors.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Coffee & Beverage Service:
Prepare espresso beverages, drip coffee, tea, and specialty drinks according to established standards Learn and maintain beverage recipes and quality standards Operate espresso equipment, grinders, and brewing equipment safely and efficiently Assist with beverage prep, stocking, and daily station setup Ensure beverage presentation and consistency meet Golden Bell standards
Hospitality & Guest Experience:
Welcome guests warmly and create genuine connections Deliver exceptional customer service and proactively assist guests Answer questions about menu offerings, retail products, and local recommendations Handle transactions accurately through the point-of-sale system Resolve guest concerns professionally and seek assistance when needed
Operations & Team Support:
Complete opening, closing, and side-work responsibilities Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the café and guest areas Restock supplies, merchandise, and grab-and-go offerings throughout shifts Support inventory organization and daily operational needs Work collaboratively with teammates to ensure smooth service during peak periods
Retail & Merchandising:
Engage guests with retail products and seasonal merchandise Assist in maintaining attractive and organized displays Help restock merchandise and monitor inventory levels Support seasonal events and special programming as needed
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
Guests feel welcomed, appreciated, and excited to return Beverage quality remains consistent and well-executed The café is clean, organized, and inviting Team members support one another during busy periods Guests leave with a positive impression of Golden Bell and the Torch Lake community
QUALIFICATIONS
Previous hospitality, retail, food service, or coffee experience is preferred but not required Positive attitude and strong work ethic Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences Strong communication and interpersonal skills Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment Dependable, organized, and team-oriented Ability to work mornings, weekends, and peak seasonal periods Interest in coffee, food, retail, and community engagement
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Compensation is commensurate with experience. $17
