Colby's Cafe & Brew is looking for a Full-Time Front of House Team Member to join our team. Our Front of House team is cross-trained in three key areas of the café: Customer Service & Sales, Barista, and Food Expo/Cold Line. Team members are typically assigned to one primary position for each shift based on scheduling, training, and the needs of the café. Over time, you'll become confident working in all three areas, making you an important and versatile part of our team. We're looking for someone who is friendly, dependable, organized, and comfortable working in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Whether you're welcoming guests at the counter, crafting drinks at the espresso bar, preparing cold-line items, or delivering a completed meal to a guest's table, you play an important role in the Colby's experience. At least one year of previous café or restaurant experience is required. Weekend availability, including Sundays, is also required. You'll typically work one primary station during each shift rather than continuously rotating between positions throughout the day. Your assigned position may vary from shift to shift based on your training, scheduling, and the needs of the café. Customer Service & Sales When assigned to our front counter, you are often the first person our guests interact with and help set the tone for their entire experience. Warmly greet and welcome guests Take food and beverage orders accurately using Toast POS Learn our menu so you can answer questions and make helpful recommendations Create a positive guest experience through friendly, attentive service Process cash, credit card, and other transactions accurately Handle guest questions and concerns professionally Answer phones and assist with takeout or special orders as needed Maintain clean, stocked, and inviting front counter and guest areas Restock merchandise and supplies as needed Barista When assigned to the Barista station, you'll prepare beverages while maintaining our standards for quality, consistency, presentation, and speed. Prepare espresso drinks, coffee, tea, and other beverages according to Colby's recipes and standards Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other café equipment Maintain consistent drink quality, portioning, and presentation Organize and prioritize drink orders during busy periods Work efficiently while maintaining quality and accuracy Maintain a clean, stocked, and organized beverage station Follow proper food safety and sanitation procedures Develop strong knowledge of our coffee and beverage offerings Previous barista experience is helpful but not required. We can teach our drink recipes and standards. Food Expo & Cold Line Our Expo position is an important connection between the kitchen, Front of House team, and our guests. In addition to coordinating completed orders, Expo team members prepare cold-line menu items and deliver food directly to guests. This position is a great fit for someone who enjoys staying active, pays close attention to details, and takes pride in both food quality and guest service. When assigned to Expo, you will: Prepare cold-line menu items, including salads and other cold food items , according to Colby's recipes and presentation standards Complete necessary cold-line food prep and keep ingredients stocked for service Review completed orders for accuracy, quality, and presentation Make sure all items, sides, modifications, and special requests are correct before an order leaves the kitchen Coordinate hot and cold items so the complete order is ready together Organize dine-in and takeout orders Package takeout orders accurately and neatly Deliver completed food orders directly to guests at their tables Provide friendly, attentive service when interacting with guests in the dining room Communicate with the kitchen when an order is incomplete or needs attention Keep food moving efficiently during busy breakfast and lunch periods Maintain a clean, organized, stocked, and food-safe Expo and cold-line area Who We're Looking For You might be a great fit for our team if you: Have at least 1 year of previous café or restaurant experience Genuinely enjoy serving and interacting with people Are warm, friendly, and approachable Are dependable and punctual Work with a sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy Pay attention to details, even when things get busy Communicate clearly and respectfully Work well as part of a team Can stay calm, positive, and productive during busy periods Take initiative and notice what needs to be done Take pride in cleanliness, organization, food quality, and presentation Are comfortable learning multiple Front of House positions Are comfortable preparing food and following recipes and portion standards Are willing to receive feedback and continue developing your skills Can stand and move for extended periods and perform the physical responsibilities of a café position Are available to work weekends, including Sundays Minimum Requirements At least 1 year of previous café or restaurant experience is required Weekend availability, including Sundays Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced food-service environment Strong customer service and communication skills Ability to learn and work in Customer Service & Sales, Barista, and Expo/Cold Line positions Reliable attendance and punctuality Ability to follow food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness standards Schedule This is a full-time position. Schedules may include opening, daytime, closing, weekday, weekend, and holiday shifts based on business needs. Weekend availability, including Sundays, is required.
