Momento House Cafe is a specialty coffee shop focused on exceptional coffee, genuine hospitality, and creating a clean, modern, and welcoming space for our community. This is not an entry-level barista position . We are looking for an experienced coffee professional who can lead the coffee program, prepare all espresso-based beverages with consistency, dial in espresso, calibrate grinders, operate commercial espresso equipment, and help set the standard for beverage quality at Momento House Cafe. The Lead Barista / Coffee Lead will be the primary coffee expert on the team and will help train, guide, and support other baristas. Bilingual barista in English and Spanish is a plus. Duties Operate commercial espresso equipment, including our Synesso S200 2 Group espresso machine Lead daily coffee bar operations Operate commercial espresso equipment, including our Synesso S200 2 Group espresso machine Dial in espresso daily and adjust throughout service as needed Calibrate grinders and monitor grind quality Prepare all espresso-based beverages with consistency and accuracy Steam and texture milk properly for lattes, cappuccinos, cortados, flat whites, and other drinks Prepare hot coffee, iced coffee, cold coffee beverages, and specialty drinks Follow and maintain beverage recipes and quality standards Monitor extraction quality, shot timing, flavor, texture, and presentation Troubleshoot espresso, grinder, and workflow issues during service Train and support other baristas Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar Restock coffee, milk, syrups, cups, lids, and bar supplies Support opening and closing procedures Provide friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service Communicate clearly with the kitchen, runner, and service team during busy periods Skills Proven experience as a barista with knowledge of coffee brewing techniques and beverage presentation. Previous cashiering experience utilizing POS systems like Square POS Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse guests. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during peak hours. Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and transaction accuracy. Knowledge of food safety protocols, food preparation, and proper food handling procedures. Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced café or retail environment within the food industry.
