Barista / Café Team Member - Sandpiper Coffee & Ice Cream Shop Job Overview Join the team at Sandpiper, a fast-paced coffee shop and ice cream spot located on beautiful Bald Head Island! We're looking for upbeat, hardworking, and guest-focused individuals who love creating positive experiences for visitors and locals alike. As a Barista/Café Team Member, you'll prepare handcrafted coffee drinks, smoothies, breakfast items, and ice cream treats while helping create the welcoming, laid-back island atmosphere Sandpiper is known for. Whether it's serving an early morning latte or a post-beach ice cream cone, your energy and attention to detail will help make every guest's day a little better. This is a great opportunity to work in a fun, team-oriented environment, gain valuable hospitality experience, and spend your summer on one of North Carolina's most unique islands. Ferry transportation to and from the island is included, and there is strong tip potential throughout the busy season. Because weekends are some of our busiest and most important service days, weekend availability is required for this position. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, smoothies, breakfast items, ice cream, and grab-and-go foods with consistency and care Provide friendly, energetic customer service while creating a welcoming experience for every guest Operate

system to process transactions accurately and efficiently Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the café, dining, and service areas Follow all food safety, sanitation, and food handling procedures Assist with restocking inventory, prepping ingredients, and keeping the café running smoothly during busy shifts Handle cash transactions and balance registers at the end of shifts Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a positive and fast-paced environment Qualifications Previous barista, café, restaurant, or customer service experience is preferred but not required Positive attitude and willingness to learn Strong communication and time management skills Ability to multitask and stay organized during busy periods Comfortable working in a fast-paced hospitality environment Basic math and cash-handling skills Weekend and holiday availability is required during peak season Perks Ferry transportation included High-energy and fun island work environment Strong earning potential through tips during the busy season Flexible scheduling opportunities Employee discounts and team-oriented atmosphere Opportunity to spend the season working on beautiful Bald Head Island We're looking for team members who bring positivity, reliability, and great energy to every shift.
