As a barista, your main objective is to carry out Summit's culture, pushing forward our mission and exhibiting our core values in engagement with fellow staff, customers, community, and the brand in general. To accomplish this, you'll provide outstanding hospitality, serve high quality products and work as part of a team to make it all happen. Responsibilities Greet every customer that comes into our store with eye contact, a friendly smile and a warm greeting. Prepare coffee using established recipes Make hot beverages including coffee and tea Serve various types of beverages (hot and cold) Cleaning duties to ensure the bar area is sanitized Stock up Batch drinks upon request Ensure freshness of drinks by ordering them when they are not available Comply with health and safety regulations Manage stock when there is a shortage Recommend new menu items Handle cash when opening cash drawer Other duties as assigned by manager Receive training on an ongoing basis Skills & Qualifications You love finding ways to make other people happy. You actively look for ways to do so. You love coffee, or at least appreciate it and are eager to learn more. You love to learn and try new things. You enjoy working with your hands to create products, and don't mind getting your hands dirty maintaining the environment necessary to do so. You are energized by working with others toward a common goal. If you see a problem, you first try to fix it, and if you can't you make sure that someone else does. You thrive while working with others and lift others up. You can practice conflict resolution. You are someone who will pick up trash even if it's not yours. Experience is not required, but any relevant barista, service or other experience will be warmly received and considered.
