La tabatiere bakery/Coffee located in Closter NJ is looking for positions of Full-time Barista. 4 days a week including Saturday. Closed on Sunday. Shift 7am - 4:15 pm Previous experience of coffee or bakery industry Preferred must be able to start work in the early morning 7am Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages with skill and consistency. Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems such as Aloha POS and Micros POS to process sales accurately and efficiently. Handle cash, credit card, and mobile payments with precision, ensuring proper cash handling and balancing registers at shift end. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and serving counters. Provide outstanding customer service by engaging with guests warmly, answering questions about menu items, and accommodating special requests. Follow food safety standards and proper food handling procedures during food preparation and serving. Manage time effectively to ensure prompt service during busy periods while maintaining quality standards. Requirements Previous barista experience or coffee industry knowledge is highly preferred. Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for sales transactions. Strong customer service skills with a positive attitude and excellent communication abilities. Ability to multitask efficiently in a fast-paced environment while managing cash handling accurately. Basic math skills for cash register operations, retail math, and transaction balancing. Knowledge of food safety protocols, food handling, and basic food preparation techniques. Experience in the food service or retail industry is a plus but not mandatory; enthusiasm to learn is essential. Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during peak hours while maintaining attention to detail.
