Job Description
AM Shift 8•2 pm Job Overview Join our vibrant café team as a Barista Cashier, where your energy and enthusiasm will create memorable experiences for every customer. In this dynamic role, you'll be the friendly face behind the counter, expertly handling food and beverage orders while providing exceptional customer service. Your multitasking skills will shine as you plate pastry, package products behind counter, manage cash transactions, and ensure a welcoming environment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food handling, sales, and retail math within a lively café setting. Duties Greet customers warmly and take their orders with enthusiasm and accuracy Recieve training in a variety of coffee beverages and food items following established recipes and safety standards Operate Square POS systems to process transactions efficiently and accurately Handle cash, credit card payments, and perform cashiering duties with attention to detail and integrity Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café area, including food preparation stations and seating areas Ensure food safety protocols are followed during food handling and preparation Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving concerns, and creating a positive atmosphere Requirements Previous bakery, restaurant or barista experience or coffee industry knowledge is preferred but not required; training will be provided for the right candidate Familiarity with POS systems Strong time management skills to handle busy periods smoothly Ability to perform basic math for sales transactions, cash handling, and retail math calculations Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, energetic attitude Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures Experience in food service or retail environments is advantageous Ability to stand for extended periods, work flexible hours including weekends and evenings Basic understanding of food preparation and serving techniques
