Job Description

Lead Barista - Bean There Café (Princeton Junction, NJ) Bean There Café is looking for a Lead Barista to join our growing team. Located at 2107 Goldfinch Blvd in Princeton Junction, NJ, our coffee bar is connected to a vibrant co-working community in the heart of a residential neighborhood. We're seeking a people-focused, hospitality-driven professional who loves coffee, enjoys building relationships with guests, and takes pride in creating exceptional experiences. This role combines beverage preparation, guest service, light food execution, inventory management, and leadership responsibilities, including opening and closing the café. This position is ideal for someone seeking a consistent daytime schedule, with shifts primarily occurring Monday through Friday from 7:30 AM-2:30 PM and Saturdays from 8:30 AM-2:30 PM. Compensation includes a competitive hourly wage plus tips. Responsibilities Greet and engage guests with genuine hospitality Educate customers about our beverage and food offerings Make recommendations and upsell seasonal specials and featured items Take orders accurately and efficiently Prepare espresso-based beverages, coffee drinks, teas, and specialty beverages according to recipes Serve prepared food items such as pastries, sandwiches, and light fare Process cash and credit card transactions Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized café environment Monitor inventory levels and restock products as needed Ensure brewing and espresso equipment is operating properly and report maintenance concerns Follow all health, safety, and sanitation standards Communicate guest feedback and ideas for improving the customer experience Manage opening and closing procedures independently Qualifications 1-3 years of barista experience preferred Hands-on experience with espresso machines and brewing equipment Strong customer service and communication skills Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards Basic math and cash-handling skills Ability to work independently and take ownership of daily operations Ability to anticipate guest needs and create memorable experiences Flexible, dependable, and team-oriented
Schedule Requirements Monday-Friday:
7:30 AM - 2:30
PM Saturday:
