Job Description
Job Overview Become a valued member of the 35 North Coffee team, a locally owned café in the heart of the historic Santa Fe Plaza. As a Barista, you'll be at the center of our welcoming, community-focused environment—crafting delicious beverages, creating housemade syrups, serving food and drinks, and ensuring every guest enjoys an outstanding experience that keeps them coming back.
We are seeking individuals who are passionate about coffee, hospitality, and creating a warm, inviting atmosphere. If you take pride in crafting the perfect drink, love engaging with people, and enjoy making every guest feel special, we'd love to meet you! This paid position offers a dynamic opportunity to develop your skills in a lively, supportive setting and contribute to Santa Fe's vibrant coffee scene.
Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of non-alcoholic beverages, including specialty coffees, teas, and housemade syrups, meeting high standards for quality and presentation. Accurately process retail transactions using the Clover POS system, including cash, credit, and mobile payments. Maintain a clean and organized café, keeping food prep areas and dining spaces spotless and ensuring food safety protocols are upheld. Deliver friendly, attentive service—warmly greeting guests, taking orders efficiently, and enthusiastically accommodating questions or special requests. Stay composed and effective during busy periods, providing prompt service without compromising quality or safety. Follow all food safety and sanitation guidelines during food and beverage preparation. Support daily operations by restocking supplies, cleaning equipment, and assisting with inventory management as needed. Qualifications Previous barista or food service experience strongly preferred; familiarity with café operations is a plus (training will be provided). Food handler certification required at time of hire or within 30 days (we'll help you obtain it if needed). Proficiency with Clover POS or similar systems for accurate transactions (training will be provided). Excellent customer service skills with the ability to connect positively with a diverse clientele. Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change. Solid understanding of food safety procedures and regulations. Exceptional time management skills to prioritize and multitask during peak hours.
