Barista Cashier Flushing, NY 11354 $17.50 - $24.00 an hour - Part-time, Full-time $17.50 - $24.00 an hour - Part-time, Full-time Experienced Barista / Café Crew Member Florist Bar & Co. is looking for a passionate, reliable, and customer-focused Barista to join our team in Flushing, Queens. We are a café, flower shop, and community space that combines specialty coffee, floral design, and hospitality. We're looking for someone who enjoys working with people, takes pride in their craft, and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Prepare espresso-based drinks, matcha beverages, teas, and specialty beverages Dial in espresso and maintain beverage quality standards Create basic latte art and ensure consistent drink presentation Prepare simple food items such as sandwiches, avocado toast, and other light café offerings Provide friendly and professional customer service Take customer orders and process payments through the POS system Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, barista station, kitchen, and dining areas Follow food safety, sanitation, and health department guidelines Restock ingredients, cups, supplies, and retail products Assist with opening and closing duties Receive and organize deliveries when needed Work collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth daily operations Support special events and private functions when scheduled Qualifications Previous barista experience needed Experience working in a café, coffee shop, bakery, restaurant, or hospitality environment preferred Basic latte art skills highly preferred Knowledge of espresso extraction, milk steaming, and coffee preparation preferred Experience preparing simple food items is a plus NYC Food Protection Certificate preferred Willingness to obtain NYC Food Protection Certificate after hiring if not currently certified Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented Weekend and holiday availability preferred Bonus Qualifications Specialty coffee experience Experience with manual brewing methods (Pour Over, V60, Chemex, etc.) Experience using Square POS systems Ability to educate customers about coffee and make recommendations based on their preferences Floral experience or bouquet wrapping skills Social media, photography, or content creation experience Experience working at community events or private events Interest in coffee, flowers, hospitality, and community-building What We're Looking For Positive attitude Strong work ethic Attention to detail Willingness to learn and grow Professional appearance and communication Ability to work independently and as part of a team Passion for creating exceptional guest experiences Job Type Full-time preferred Part-time available Pay $17.50-$24.00 per hour (based on experience and performance) + tips Benefits Employee discount Flexible scheduling Growth opportunities within the company Hands-on training and development
