Portland Coffee Roasters is adding regular positions to its team at our PDX Airport Cafe and looking for A.M. Baristas to provide quality drinks and service!

Hiring for early morning, weekend
Barista:
approx. 25hrs/weekPart-time position earning $17.30/hr, averaging $21-$24 per hour after tips!

Job Summary:
Reporting the the Caf Manager, the Caf Barista position demonstrates exceptional hospitality skills through extraordinary customer service to all PDX travelers as well as Port of Portland employees. Is able to expertly prepare high quality beverages, deliver excellent product knowledge, and develop superior barista skills. Caf Baristas are responsible for maintaining a clean and welcoming environment that is safe and meets Portland Coffee Roasters expectations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Prepare and serve beverages that adhere to Portland Coffee Roasters freshness, quality and presentation standards.

Ensure customers are warmly received and welcomed; engage customers in a sincere, friendly and professional manner, including greeting customers with a smile, thanking them for their patronage, talking about their drink preference, making suggestions when appropriate all in an expedient manner.

Maintain coffee knowledge on all Portland Coffee Roasters offerings and confidently and accurately communicating that knowledge to customers.

Actively participate in coffee and tea tastings to further product knowledge and help identify any issues or deficiencies. Continuously demonstrate an ongoing pursuit of education, training, and industry trends.

Complete and attend all mandatory and ongoing training sessions required by Portland Coffee to constantly advance education on coffee, tea, merchandise, and espresso bar skills.

Adhere to all company and PDX Port policies and protocols including those for cash handling, safety and security all while maintaining a clean and organized work space. Ensure that the company s brand is properly reflected by keeping a well maintained, clean, well-organized and stocked coffee bar.

Uphold Portland Coffee Roasters standards regarding merchandising, inventory and rotation of store products.

Offer relevant, thoughtful, ideas and suggestions for improving operationsEnsure adherence to our dress code, as well as all food safety and OSHA safety requirements.

Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

Working with several different types of coffee and espresso equipment. Bending and turning. Gripping and GraspingWorking with non-coffee equipment, i.e. cash registers and turbo chef industrial ovens, for long periods or sustained rushes.

Lifting and carrying up to 35#. Standing for long periods of time.
