Job Description

PASSIONFLEXIBILITYHIGH-ENERGYFutura Coffee Roasters is seeking 1, 3/4 to Full Time(4 shifts per week) Barista with weekend availability for our 7201 NE Glisan location in Portland. Please send us your shift availability when applying.

Futura Coffee Roasters opened its doors in February of 2022. Our driving passion is customer service, craft/specialty coffee, and sustainability. Our leadership team has well over 30 years of combined coffee experience from across the industry.

We are seeking friendly and cheerful hospitality focused Baristas with ideally 1+ years of experience in the specialty coffee industry. You must be a customer service oriented person who is eager to contribute positively to the shop and our community. A clear passion to practice and learn hospitality while desiring to learn more about coffee and sustainability is a huge part of this position! Availability on the weekends as well as flexibility to cover shifts occasionally is a must. Wages start at $16.50 per hour + tips.

Position requirements and qualifications:
  • Ideally 1+ years experience in the specialty coffee industry
  • Friendly & cheerful customer service oriented person who is eager to contribute positively to the shop and our community. A desire to practice and learn hospitality is a huge part of this position
  • Someone who takes pride in maintaining a clean, orderly environment, with proven ability to independently manage their own time & priorities, staying thoughtfully busy, at all times, regardless of customer flow
  • Arrives on time, well-rested, and ready to work
  • Efficiency of motion and ability to handle pressure is paramount to being successful in this role
  • The job does require some light lifting, bending, and the ability to stand for up to 4
  • 6 hours at a time
  • Quick learner, ability to multitask, with exceptional communication and on-your-feet problem solving skills
  • Love for coffee. We taste the product that we serve on a regular basis. We also want you to love what you do. If you don't love coffee, you won't love serving it
  • Ability to prepare breakfast sandwiches and other light food items.
  • Valid OR State Food handlers permit required
