Overview Our West Ashley location is a fun, laid back job with great people, great regulars, and an opportunity for a flexible schedule that still allows you to have a life outside of work. Starting pay is $13/hour plus tips. A yearly raise with potential for more based on performance. Typical shifts are 5:30am-1:00pm, 7:00am-3:00pm, and 1:00pm-8:30pm. We open 1 hour later on Sundays. We are looking for someone with a flexible schedule to work some closing and weekend shifts. As a Barista, you will be responsible for crafting high-quality food & beverages, while providing exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Your role will involve not only preparing coffee and other drinks but also creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers. Responsibilities Prepare and serve a variety of coffee beverages, teas, and other drinks according to established recipes and standards. Operate the cash register and handle cash transactions accurately, ensuring all sales are processed efficiently. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area, including the coffee station, dining area, and equipment. Assist with food preparation and handling, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking orders, and addressing any inquiries or concerns. Manage time effectively during busy periods to ensure timely service without compromising quality. Utilize POS systems (including Aloha POS) for order processing and inventory management. Collaborate with team members to create a positive work environment that promotes teamwork and efficiency. Qualifications Previous experience in a barista or food service role is preferred but not required. Familiarity with POS systems and cash handling procedures is highly desirable. Basic math skills to handle transactions accurately. Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment. Knowledge of coffee preparation techniques and beverage recipes is a plus. Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact positively with customers and team members. Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
