• Sweet Palm is looking for an experienced barista with strong leadership potential to join our team as a Shift Lead and work directly alongside our current owner/manager. We are building Sweet Palm with the goal of expanding to multiple locations, and we're looking for someone who wants more than another barista job. We want someone who can become a key part of the business, take on increasing responsibility, and potentially grow into a salaried management position as the company expands. This is currently an hourly, tipped Shift Lead position — not a salaried management position. Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who: Has strong professional barista experience Has an excellent attitude and exceptional work ethic Is reliable, punctual, organized, and accountable Has high attention to detail Can follow management directives closely and consistently Understands that consistency in recipes, service, cleanliness, and operating procedures is essential Can lead by example and help ensure other employees follow company standards Takes direction well without needing constant supervision Can also think on their feet, adapt, and make good decisions on the fly based on what's best for the business Notices problems and takes initiative to solve them Treats the business with the care and attention they would give their own Wants to learn, improve, take on responsibility, and grow with the company Previous leadership or management experience is strongly preferred. Experience with inventory management, ordering, cash counting/handling, opening and closing procedures, employee supervision, training, and day-to-day store operations is highly desirable. The Role You'll initially work hands-on alongside our current owner/manager while learning Sweet Palm's systems, standards, products, and operations. As you prove yourself, you'll take on increasing Shift Lead responsibilities, including: Preparing high-quality espresso and specialty beverages Leading shifts and directing team members Maintaining speed, quality, cleanliness, and hospitality standards Ensuring recipes and procedures are followed consistently Opening and closing responsibilities Cash handling and reconciliation Inventory counts and assisting with ordering Training and developing employees Identifying and solving operational problems Making good real-time decisions when circumstances change Helping improve efficiency, sales, customer experience, and overall store performance We're looking for someone who understands the balance between following established standards exactly where consistency matters and using good judgment when the situation requires flexibility. • This position participates in our employee tip pool while remaining an eligible hourly Shift Lead position. A future salaried management position would have a separate compensation structure. This range is based on Sweet Palm's current and historical sales, tip, and employee earnings data, which we can review with qualified candidates. Actual earnings may vary based on hours worked, shifts, customer volume, sales, tips, and other factors. Future advancement, increased compensation, or salaried management opportunities are not guaranteed and are based on individual performance, demonstrated leadership ability, business needs, and company growth.
