Job Description
Job Overview Skilled experienced Baristas needed for Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii (Beach Donkey LLC). Full Time 30 - 40 hours a week. Must be available any day of the week including Saturday and Sunday. Morning shifts start at 5:30 a.m., closing shifts end around 7 p.m. Must be able to work 5 days a week. Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is an emerging coffee franchise with locations across the United States. We are searching for an experienced Barista for our Surfside beach location. We are seeking passionate and dedicated people to join our Ohana (family). Established in 1989, Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii takes pride in sharing and bringing the Aloha Spirit to the Grand Strand. Our premium coffee comes from using the best beans and the right roasting formula that brings out peak flavor. We handcraft each cup with care. Join us in sharing our aloha spirit! This is a locally owned store. The ideal candidate will be well rounded with the ability to provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced café environment, while maintaining cleanliness and performing other required operational tasks. We are looking for a mature individual who wants to take responsibility and who can be depended upon. Growth opportunities may be available for employees who show commitment, reliability, and leadership. Responsibilities Create the Aloha spirit with every customer interaction. Prepare and serve high-quality coffee beverages, teas, and other menu items according to established recipes and standards to ensure consistency. Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately using Toast POS. Maintain cleanliness of the café area, including tables, counters, and equipment, in compliance with food safety and handling regulations. Engage with customers in a friendly manner, taking orders and providing recommendations. Assist in food preparation tasks as needed, ensuring that all items are fresh and presented well. Ensure cleanliness behind the bar, equipment, and kitchen. Perform other required tasks, including stocking merch wall, maintaining tidy shirt display, follow check lists accurately and completely. Requirements Preferred previous experience as a real Barista who knows how to craft authentic coffee drinks. Familiarity with POS systems; experience with Toast is a plus. Knowledge of food safety practices and food handling procedures is helpful, Food Handler Certification is a plus. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Ability to work 6-8 hour shifts. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team. A genuine passion for coffee and customer service is highly desirable.
