Prepares and serves coffee drinks by following prescribed recipes and preparation techniques for coffee drinks such as; espresso, espresso lungo, caffè latte, and cappuccino.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Prepares and serves beverages, ranging from simple to elaborate Promotes and recommends menu options to guests Maintains inventories by replenishing coffee bean supply; stocking coffee brewing equipment, maintaining supplies, and cookies for coffee station Maintains equipment by cleaning, troubleshooting, and scheduling repairs Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations Evaluates and modifies processes to improve efficiency and quality of service Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading coffee, retail trade, and food service publications; maintains personal networks

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Prior café or coffee shop experience Excellent communication skills Must be at least 17 years of age Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays Must be well-groomed and well-presented with no visible tattoos Must have reliable transportation Desirable Prior restaurant experience Guest interaction skills Organization Ability to speak French or Spanish SKILLS Ability to communicate in English both orally and in writing Strong interpersonal communication skills both verbal and written Must always be organized and maintain cleanliness of workstation Ability to speak using clear and professional language Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment Ability to cross-train across multiple departments and assist when needed
