Baristas at the Friendship Cafe are representing all that the Friendship Circle stands for. With all the important tasks we do, the most important of all is to make Friendship Cafe a place where everyone feels comfortable, accepted and "at home". For this reason, it is imperative for ALL employees to have a pleasant demeanor, smile at clients and leave personal conflicts or challenges at the door. People can FEEL positive energy and it can transform someone's experience completely. In addition to setting the right vibe, Friendship Cafe barista's are responsible for providing excellent customer service while fulfilling food and drink orders. Key Responsibilities While at work, baristas are the face of Friendship Cafe to our customers. Baristas are expected to provide exceptional customer service, whether they are making a drink, preparing food, cleaning up, or chatting with customers.

Baristas are responsible to:

Maintain a clean, well-stocked cafe Make cafe menu items, according to established recipes, ensue consistent product and visual apperance Monitor inventory levels of coffee beans, supplies, and food items; assist with stock replenishment as needed Establish and maintain a safe and clean enviornment Lead by example in maintaining cleanliness, organization, and safety standards throughout the café Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks during busy periods Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse customer needs professionally Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math calculations, and sales transactions Wear proper personal protective equipment and uniform at all times Ability to motivate team members and communicate clearly in a fast-paced environment Attend all team meetings, and participate as an engaged team member Complete all other cafe duties as assigned Baristas should keep learning and growing also be open to helping others develop as well. Our cafe employs people with special needs, and we expect our baristas to work alongside them and mentor them as needed. We offer some great perks!

Required Qualifications:

We are looking for people who have the ability to: Work on their feet work in a team environment Maintain a positive demeanor, especially during busy times Have a "can do" approach to problem solving Multi task: take orders, prepare drinks and pleasantly talk with customers The Friendship Circle will only employ those who are legally authorized to work in the United States for this opening any offer of employment is conditioned upon the successful completion of a background check.
