Job Description
AM Coffee Co is a mobile espresso bar and coffee catering company based in the Milwaukee area. We bring the coffee cart to weddings, corporate events, and company parties in Milwaukee, Madison, and Southeastern Wisconsin. We're hiring part-time event baristas.
Pay:
$15/hr during training $19/hr once you're certified. $75 bonus for every five successful events. Tips are paid for by event organizers before the events and split by hours worked, so your share doesn't depend on which event you happened to accept. Our monthly tips can range from an additional $5
•10 per hour. Referral bonus
•if you refer a potential client and they book, you get a percentage of that booking. Free coffee during your shift. What the average shift looks like: You drive the loaded van to the venue, unload the cart and the equipment, set up the mobile espresso bar wherever the event host has designated. You maintain a hospitality-forward attitude to everyone at the venue (event host, guests, and everyone you encounter). You dial in the espresso, set up your bar, and run service. Service usually runs about 2-3 hours; with drive time, setup, teardown and drive back, the shift is between 7-10 hours. All of our events are fully paid for by the client. Your job is just to provide a service that makes someone's day. No dealing with cash, cards, or large/confusing menus. You're making someone's day by providing them a "free" latte. It doesn't get much better than that.
Minimum qualifications:
Reliable transportation. Ability to lift 60 pounds and carry at least 10-15 feet. At least three days per week available. Punctual. This is the deal breaker, in training and after. Comfortable talking to guests, engaging them while you manage drink orders and pacing the line. Espresso experience and latte art are not requirements. Kindness, cheer and friendliness are our primary requirements.
Where this goes:
This is a real career path for anyone who has been in the coffee business for a while and is wondering if they can make a real career in coffee. The experience at AM Coffee Co will open your eyes to a whole new world of coffee service and coffee business models. The work is seasonal. Expect very busy months in May and December. January and February are slow. We cannot promise a set number of events, but we will give you as many events as we can as we get bookings.
