Job Description

Job Summary We are looking for professional, high-energy bartenders with excellent communication skills to serve classical cocktails and beverages to our customers in SkyHigh Pizza Bar Thursday through Saturday evenings. Our bartenders greet customers, learn about their preferences, answer questions, recommend menu items, and prepare and serve beverages and food. You will also upsell items, create recipes, utilize proper equipment and ingredients, and handle basic cleaning duties. This position is June 18 through September 6, 2026 with some additional shifts possible with events etc. Job Duties and Responsibilities This job description is intended as a summary of the primary responsibilities of and the qualifications for the position. When we do ask for your assistance with any job, we expect an enthusiastic and cooperative response. Setup bar area and seating area prior to opening. Check opening inventory, notes any shortages or changes. Greets customers in a courteous fashion, with world-class service in mind. Pour and dispenses alcoholic beverages to legal age guests. Record all sales by ringing exact amounts into register. Rotate and restock bar coolers with inventory from walk-in cooler. Change tap on empty kegs. Report any problems or leaks to MOS. Maintain security of all bar supplies and inventory. Maintain record of daily operations as required. Responsible for accurate cash turn in/deposit. Inform Manager or MOD, when new bottles of liquor or supplies are needed. Recognize levels of intoxication and prevents customers from becoming intoxicated.
TIPS TRAINED.
Maintain a safe work environment at all times. Inform customers about current specials and practices, suggestive selling of food and beverage products. Restock bar supplies, such as dry goods, all glassware, all juices, sodas, and garnishes. Help maintain cleanliness of bar and restaurant areas and equipment, TV, mirrors, signs, tables, windows, chairs, floors, etc. Cleans all bar area surfaces regularly. Clean all surfaces during shift and at end of shift. Maintain and clean all liquor and draft beer control devices. Read orders from waiter/waitress then fill and direct wait staff when to serve in bar. Complete daily bottle beer reconciliation and liquor report, review any shortages and overages and records them for management review. Other duties as assigned. Skills and Competencies Previous bartender experience. Passion for food service environment. Excellent verbal communications skills. Ability to think quickly and trouble shoot to resolve guest concerns. Must be 21+ years old. ABC alcohol certification. CA Food Handler Certification Working Conditions At any time during the ski season, Bear Valley employees are often required to perform their tasks in high winds, heavy snowfalls, low visibility, rain, and extremely cold or warm temperatures. Uniforms A professional appearance at Bear Valley is required. Please wear your name tag and uniform at all times during your scheduled shift. We will provide most of the uniform for you to do your job. This uniform is for work hours ONLY, no exceptions. You will be required to provide some items as part of your job. The quality, color, and style of the items must be approved by your manager prior to being worn to work. All hats worn must have the Bear Valley logo while on shift. The skiing/riding employee represents a model for safe skiing for both the guest and fellow employees. You are required to be aware of all safe skiing procedures, trail closures, and out-of-bounds policies of the mountain.
