Job Description

Server/bartender Fuse Social Corona, CA Job Details Part-time From $17 an hour 7 hours ago Benefits Paid training 401(k) matching Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications Teamwork Bar setup Hospitality industry experience Full Job Description Server/Bartender Fuse Social | Kitchen - Bar - Sports | Eastvale, CA Fuse Social is a new full-service restaurant and bar concept opening in Eastvale, combining an energetic sports environment with genuine hospitality, a full bar program and a food-forward menu featuring international influences alongside approachable favorites. We are seeking experienced, energetic and highly team-oriented Server/Bartenders for a multi-functional front-of-house position . About This Position This is not a traditional server position where employees are assigned only to tables, nor is it a traditional bartender position limited to working behind the bar. Server/Bartenders collectively have overall responsibility for the front-of-house guest experience . Depending on business needs during a shift, this includes welcoming and seating arriving guests, serving dining-room tables, preparing beverages, taking care of guests seated at the bar, processing takeout and delivery orders, maintaining the front of the restaurant, and thanking guests as they leave. Fuse Social will not have a dedicated host/hostess position. Server/Bartenders are expected to recognize arriving guests, welcome them promptly, manage seating and make sure guests are acknowledged even when the restaurant is busy. A Busser/Utility team member will generally be scheduled during peak-volume periods to provide additional support. However, Server/Bartenders remain responsible for their guests, tables and front-of-house responsibilities and should not expect to rely heavily on the Busser/Utility position for routine service duties. This operating model requires exceptional teamwork. Server/Bartenders must be comfortable moving between responsibilities, communicating continuously with one another and stepping in wherever needed rather than viewing individual tables, bar guests or tasks as belonging exclusively to one employee. Guest Arrival & Departure Promptly acknowledge and welcome every guest entering the restaurant. Assist with managing the entrance and guest flow when multiple parties arrive. Determine party size and seating needs and seat guests appropriately. Provide menus and ensure newly seated guests are acknowledged and service begins promptly. Communicate with other Server/Bartenders regarding newly seated tables and service coverage. Maintain awareness of guests waiting to be seated. Keep the entrance and guest-facing areas clean and welcoming. Acknowledge and thank departing guests and invite them to return. Dining Room Service Provide friendly, attentive and knowledgeable table service. Learn the Fuse Social food and beverage menus and confidently answer guest questions. Take accurate food and beverage orders and enter them correctly into the POS system. Make appropriate food, cocktail, beer, wine and other beverage recommendations. Deliver food and beverages accurately and efficiently. Monitor tables throughout the guest experience and anticipate reasonable guest needs. Pre-bus and clear tables throughout service rather than waiting for support staff. Reset tables when necessary so they are quickly available for incoming guests. Process guest payments accurately. Address routine guest concerns professionally and involve management when appropriate. Bar & Beverage Responsibilities When assigned or needed, Server/Bartenders are expected to: Prepare cocktails, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages according to established recipes and specifications. Provide complete service to guests seated at the bar. Prepare beverages for dining-room guests. Maintain an organized, clean and properly stocked bar. Restock beer, wine, liquor, mixers, glassware, garnishes and other bar supplies as needed. Verify identification and follow all applicable alcohol-service requirements. Monitor alcohol consumption and practice responsible beverage service. Accurately process bar transactions and maintain appropriate cash-handling procedures. Takeout & Delivery Orders Server/Bartenders are also part of the restaurant's takeout and third-party delivery operation and are expected to: Monitor incoming takeout and delivery orders as assigned. Verify completed orders against the guest ticket before packaging. Properly package food, beverages, condiments, utensils and other required items. Ensure packaging is clean, secure and appropriate for transport. Organize completed orders for pickup. Assist guests and third-party delivery drivers with order pickup. Confirm orders are released to the correct guest or delivery driver. Communicate missing, delayed or incorrect items immediately so they can be corrected before the order leaves the restaurant. Shared Front-of-House Responsibilities Fuse Social operates with a team-service mentality .
Server/Bartenders are expected to:
Help one another rather than focusing exclusively on an individually assigned section. Greet guests even when they will ultimately be served by another team member. Run food and beverages for other Server/Bartenders when needed. Assist bar guests even when another employee initially opened the check. Pre-bus, clear and reset tables when support is needed. Refill water and respond to reasonable guest requests regardless of whose table it is. Maintain clean and stocked service stations. Keep menus, tables, chairs, bar areas and other guest-facing areas clean and organized. Restock supplies throughout the shift rather than leaving shortages for another employee. Perform assigned opening, running and closing side work. Communicate continuously with fellow Server/Bartenders, kitchen employees and management. Recognize what needs attention and assist without waiting to be asked whenever reasonably possible. Busser/Utility Support A Busser/Utility employee may be scheduled during higher-volume periods to assist the front-of-house team with clearing, cleaning, resetting, stocking and other support functions. The presence of a Busser/Utility employee does not eliminate the Server/Bartender's responsibility for maintaining their tables, bar area, service stations or overall guest experience. Server/Bartenders are expected to pre-bus their tables, maintain their work areas, assist with resets and perform routine service-support tasks throughout the shift. The Busser/Utility position is intended to increase the team's efficiency during peak volume—not replace the Server/Bartender's normal responsibilities. Qualifications Previous full-service restaurant serving experience preferred. Previous bartending experience strongly preferred. Ability and willingness to perform both serving and bartending responsibilities based on business needs. Comfortable working in a multi-functional position without a dedicated host/hostess. Strong hospitality, communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to manage multiple guests, tables, bar orders, takeout orders and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong situational awareness and ability to recognize where assistance is needed. Ability to work cooperatively in a highly team-oriented environment. Working knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer and wine preferred. Ability to learn and accurately communicate a menu incorporating multiple culinary influences. Dependable attendance and punctuality. Must meet all legal age requirements applicable to assigned alcohol-service duties. Must obtain and maintain any food-handler certification required by applicable law. Employees who serve alcoholic beverages must obtain and maintain California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification within the period required by law. Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and perform the lifting, carrying, bending and repetitive tasks normally associated with restaurant service, with or without reasonable accommodation. The Person Who Will Succeed in This Position The strongest Server/Bartenders at Fuse Social will be people who naturally think: "What does the restaurant need right now?" rather than: "Is that my table or my responsibility?" This position is intentionally multi-functional. Successful team members will be comfortable transitioning throughout a shift between greeting and seating guests, serving tables, preparing drinks, taking care of bar guests, running food, packaging takeout and delivery orders, clearing and resetting tables and helping teammates. We are looking for people who understand that exceptional hospitality is a shared responsibility . Guests should receive the same level of attention regardless of which employee initially greeted them, took their order or opened their check. Sports knowledge is not required. A genuine commitment to hospitality, teamwork, urgency, cleanliness and taking care of guests is . Fuse Social is an equal opportunity employer. We consider qualified applicants without regard to any characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local law. Reasonable accommodations are available to qualified applicants and employees with disabilities.
