We pride ourselves on creating a warm, inviting atmosphere where our guests can discover new favorites and feel right at home. We are searching for a passionate and knowledgeable Wine Bar Assistant Manager to help support and motivate the team, uphold standards, and ensure every guest leaves with a smile while also performing the following duties: Assist the Wine Bar Manager with daily operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and point-of-sale (POS) system management. Provide leadership and guidance to bar team members, fostering a positive and professional work environment. Lead pre-shift meetings in the Manager's absence to communicate daily goals, new menu items, and service standards. Maintain thorough knowledge of the wine list and food menu to educate staff and engage with guests. Support the development and creation of cocktail recipes and final menu selections. Train and develop new and current bar team members. Oversee inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and stocking wine and bar supplies. Uphold health, safety, and hygiene standards and ensure responsible service of alcohol. Serve guests, recommend beer and wine pairings, and prepare cocktails following recipe and pour guidelines. Assist with light food preparation and maintain a clean, organized bar environment, including dishwashing and resetting barware. Monitor and assist with cost control measures, including operating costs and labor management. Perform other duties as assigned. This is a non-exempt position, which pays hourly + tips with a variable schedule of 32-40 hours per week . Flexible availability is required, including evenings and weekends, with additional hours as needed. Additional qualities we are looking for: 2+ years of bar or restaurant experience, including at least 1 year in a supervisory or lead role. Strong leadership and communication skills. In-depth knowledge of wine, beer, and spirits, with a passion for hospitality. Experience with POS systems and inventory management. LEAD & Food Handlers training requires along California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) training and certification.
