As a Barback at MINIBOSS, you will play a crucial support role in ensuring smooth and efficient bar operations. You will work closely with up to four bartenders, handling a range of tasks that keep the bar running seamlessly and contribute to an exceptional guest experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Operational Support:
Wash and polish glassware, restock refrigerators, and refill ice when needed. Replace punch/beer kegs, and refill syrups, citrus bottles, and liquor bottles. Anticipate and address needs before supplies run out. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar top and service decks.
Team Collaboration:
Support bartenders effectively by understanding the bar layout and product locations. Communicate efficiently with bartenders using verbal and non-verbal cues. Prioritize tasks to address the most urgent needs and keep bar operations moving smoothly.
Equipment Management:
Report common bar equipment issues (e.g., freezer noises, low punch pressure). Handle and maintain bar equipment and tools.
Physical Requirements:
Lift and transport up to 50 lbs. safely; use rolling carts/dollies for heavier items like kegs. Stay active and scan the environment continuously for potential issues or needs.
Initiative and Organization:
Demonstrate strong initiative, being proactive and self-motivated at all times. Ensure a smooth transition between AM and PM shifts, fulfilling all duties and preparing the bar for the next shift.
Stock Management:
Understand the locations of all stock items in the liquor room, primary cabinet, kitchen, and walk-in fridge/freezer. Quickly locate items to avoid service delays and ensure efficient operation.
Closing and Breakdown Procedures:
Follow all closing procedures including washing and restocking glassware and properly storing unused garnishes and citrus bottles. Clean and detail bar tools and equipment, remove garbage bags, and handle other end-of-shift responsibilities.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Previous barback or relevant experience preferred.
Skills:
Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure.
Physical Stamina:
Ability to lift heavy items and stay active throughout the shift.
Knowledge:
Familiarity with bar equipment and inventory management.
Certifications:
