Job Description

The Server/Bartender is responsible for serving food and beverages with the highest level of customer service to guests throughout the Bistro & Nightcap. They are responsible for maintaining the organization and cleanliness of the FOH, bar area, and knowing all aspects of the menu descriptions and specialty cocktails, all bartender side work and communicating with both guests and management to ensure brand standards are met at all times. Responsibilities and Duties Shows up for work on time in uniform with all tools, pens, wine opener, pad. Accurately describes menu items, Property history, specialty drinks and wine for complete guest satisfaction Knows cocktail recipes and how to build cocktails Has knowledge on spirits and flavor profiles of the cocktail menu Creates cocktails in a timely manner and works well under pressure Describes all dishes accurately and knows all dishes including allergies and dietary restrictions Special events as needed and work holiday and special services as needed. Take orders and serve guests at the pool area while maintaining cleanliness and organization in the pool section Accommodates any special requests and checks with kitchen to ensure we can accommodate Maintains table appearance by prebussing throughout the entire meal. Handles money efficiently and accurately Properly ring in food & drinks into POS accurately Can safely and swiftly carry a tray of drinks and properly serve them without having to put tray on table Maintains a safe and sanitary work environment Communicates with guests regarding menu and beverages & property information and history Upsells menu items and specials to maximize food and beverage revenue Serves menu items to guests in a prompt and courteous manner and according to established service standards Notes timing of meal progression and notifies kitchen and or management Performs pre and post side work efficiently Settles guest payments; makes accurate change for guest and processes credit card transactions correctly Monitors and observes guest's dining experience. Ensures guests are having a great time, and is completely satisfied with food and service Removes used tableware between courses and provides tableware for next course in advance of food delivery Runs food as needed, especially for large parties and during peak hours Maintains table maintenance, and is ready and willing to assist the support staff Reports all equipment problems and maintenance issues to manager Assists with the restock and replenishment of inventory and supplies Qualifications/Skills Needed 34 years combined server and bartending experience in upscale restaurant Strong comprehension of both classic and contemporary cocktails Must be at least 21 years of age in accordance with California law governing the preparation and service of alcoholic beverages Must have a valid California Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) certification or the ability to obtain one within 60 days of employment; Granada Hotel & Bistro covers the expense Must have a valid Food Handler Card or the ability the ability to obtain one within 30 days of employment; Granada Hotel & Bistro covers the expense Strong customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members Strong listening and oral communication skills Ability to work in a fastpaced environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy Basic math skills and the ability to handle cash, process payments, and operate a pointofsale (POS) system Ability to communicate effectively in English; additional languages are a plus Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to workplace safety and compliance with company policies Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, up to the duration of a scheduled shift Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing up to 2550 pounds (e.g., kegs, cases of beverages, ice bins, and bar supplies) Frequent bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and twisting to perform bar setup, service, cleaning, and restocking duties Ability to use hands and fingers for repetitive motions such as pouring, shaking, stirring, cutting garnishes, and handling glassware Ability to maintain balance and coordination while working in a fastpaced environment with potential hazards, including wet floors and confined workspaces Ability to communicate effectively with guests and coworkers in a highnoise environment Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including indoor and outdoor settings, and exposure to heat, cold, and other weatherrelated conditions, as applicable Upon employment, submission of satisfactory proof of your identity and your legal authorization to work in the United States.
