MORE ABOUT THE ROLE

Bartender/ Server PURPOSE:

Mixes and serves alcoholic drinks, non-alcoholic drinks, and food to patrons of bar and service staff according to standard recipes or procedures. Serves food and drinks to customers in bar area and/or dining room.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Mix ingredients to prepare drinks, serve draft beer, bottled beer, wine and liquor according to procedure/recipe and restaurant specifications. Greet customers, serve food and beverage in a courteous and timely manner, create new business and avoids customer complaints. Perform correct money transactions adhering to proper cash handling procedures. Communicate with bar patrons and staff conveying specials & promotions. Exercise responsible service of alcoholic beverages. Reconcile daily bar inventories with bar cash-received totals. Adhere to state & local responsible alcohol service regulations. Provide great salesmanship thru menu presentation and suggestive selling. Serve number of tables as determined by management. Write or punch in orders correctly & in a timely fashion to bar and kitchen staff. Use a computer for settling guest checks, to-go orders and timekeeping purposes. Work in a team environment and communicate with other employees and guests.

OTHER DUTIES

Clears tables of dishes, silverware and glassware. Performs other functions assigned by management (i.e. take out trash, stocking, checking restrooms, bus tubs,refill ice, wash glassware, assist other

staff members, etc.).

Requirements:

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

100 % Walk and stand. 75% Reach, bend, stoop, lift and wipe. 50% Operate cash register and/or POS system and makes correct change. 10% Lift and move 40-pound cases about 10 times per shift and carries items 50 yards. 10% Lift and move kegs up to 100lbs.

ESSENTIAL TRAINING REQUIREMENTS

Successful completion of hourly position validations, including reading training materials and watching videos. Obtain a Responsible Alcohol Certification within 60 days of employment.

QUALIFICATIONS

Must be 18 years old to serve alcohol or as state regulations dictate.
