days a week plus bartending fill in for other staff. This is a full time position. You are a Jack or Josephine of all trades... you can do it ALL with extreme precision and attention to detail. You must have a true passion for brewing, constantly learning about brewing and appreciation for all styles of craft beer.YOU MUST HAVE A DEEP KNOWLEDGE AND APPRECIATION FOR CRAFT BEER
Attention to detail is a must. You must be able to follow detailed protocols and work independently. If you have a Type A personality, you will do well here. The Cellar Operator/Bartender position pays $30-40 per hour with the four bartending shifts. Bartending ExpectationsHUSTLE OUTGOING!
Must be passionate about independent craft beer and love people TIPs certification preferred Experience/knowledge of the craft brewing industry Develops enthusiastically satisfied customers every day Able to explain the brewery's history and beer portfolio on a daily basis Extreme ability to multitask Extreme attention to detail & directions Summary of Basic Duties and Responsibilities Adhere to all relevant safety practices and procedures Maintain a clean and safe work space Request and verify proper identification for alcohol service Be friendly and engaging when serving customers Make appropriate recommendations when requested Educate customers on products and brand when appropriate Clean tap lines and swap kegs as needed Complete opening and closing duties as directed Work as a cohesive and efficient team player Working Conditions Lift one sixth barrel kegs (60 lbs) Share lifting duties of half barrel kegs (165 lbs) with a fellow employee Be able to stand on your feet for extended periods of time Cellar Operator Expectations The Cellar Operator is responsible for all grain management operations including: Weighing grain, milling grain, grain inventory, Water preparation, Doughing in grain to water, graining out the mash tun, cleaning tanks, CIP's, SIP's, transferring, sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, hosing down floors, scrubbing, polishing etc. in and around the brewhouse. Once the cellar operator position is mastered, the right candidate may have the oportunity to move on to an assistant brewer position to include: cellaring, wort production, general cleaning, yeast handling. This position will follow standard work methods and practice safe work habits to ensure production is as efficient and safe as possible. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Extreme ability to follow directions without deviation Extreme ability to work independently General cleaning duties such as sweeping, mopping, taking out trash, hosing down floors, pressure washing, etc. Moving hoses, buckets and small brewery parts when needed to clean the Brewhouse. CIP and sanitize fermentation vessels, bright beer tanks, filter, processing piping & hoses, and other required processing equipment. Manage and execute daily trub removals and dry hopping. Filter and carbonate finished beer. Canning Line CIP, SIP and operation. Perform various quality control checks and tests. Update all paperwork and log product yield and loss data. Operation of machinery such as forklift, scissor lift and man lift. Sample product, attend beer events, and represent the company at industry functions. Contribute to and participate in all small-scale innovation projects. Other duties, as requested by the brewing leadership team.CIP & SIP.
Working Conditions The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodations. Extreme ability to follow directions without deviation Flexible to work a rotating schedules as business needs arise (typical work week = 40+ hours) with 10+ hour days. Position requires standing for long periods of time (up to 12 hours), bending, stooping, twisting, and lifting products and materials weighing up to 55 pounds. Exposure to various temperature changes. Able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (ear plugs, gloves, boots, etc.). Ability to operate powered industrial trucks and equipment. Ability to work from heights. Supervision of Others This position does not require any management responsibilities. Education/Qualifications High School Diploma or GED. Knowledge of safe work operations, safety policies and procedures. Attention to details, ability to recognize when there is a problem. Love, appreciation and knowledge of beer, including a familiarity with the craft brewing industry and with beer styles Must be eligible to work in the United States.
