Competitive base hourly rate + tips Role Summary Vero Cucino Rustico, an award-winning, family-friendly Italian restaurant in Middletown, is seeking a polished, full-time hospitality professional for a dual Server/Bartender role. We are famous for our authentic, thin-crust Neapolitan-style pizzas, handcrafted pasta dishes, and robust classic Italian comfort food. This dual position balances high-volume dining room sections with shifts managing our onsite full bar and event hall. The ideal candidate brings a welcoming attitude and passion for top-tier service to match our community reputation.
Core Responsibilities Dual-Zone Execution:
Seamlessly shift between delivering table service in our cozy dining room and crafting cocktails at the bar rail.
Menu & Wine Knowledge:
Provide detailed recommendations on our expanded Italian-American menu.
Beverage Management:
Mix, garnish, and pour wine, craft beers, and specialty cocktails efficiently while maintaining bar cleanliness.
Order & Cash Accuracy:
Enter orders into the POS system accurately, process digital or card payments, and manage cash drawers.
Operational Sidework:
Manage open/close duties, prep bar garnishes, inventory, and ensure the service area is fully stocked.
Compliance:
Strictly follow Connecticut food safety protocols and alcohol service laws.
Requirements & Qualifications Experience:
Minimum 2+ years of high-volume server and bartending experience, preferably in an Italian or casual fine-dining environment.
Availability:
Must be available for weekend shifts, especially during peak Friday and Saturday evening hours, holidays and reliable to complete their work accurately and efficiently, and can be trusted to meet deadlines.
Certifications:
Valid local or state food handler and responsible alcohol service certifications.
Physical Demands:
Ability to stand for long periods and safely lift/move restaurant supplies up to 40 lbs.
Traits:
Energetic, team-oriented personality with exceptional communication and multitasking skills.positive work ethic and reliable. The day shift pay rate for servers at Vero Cucino will be minimum wage per hour plus tips.
