The Bartender is responsible for servicing guests & members in a prompt, professional and courteous manner while upholding the core values of The Gasparilla Inn. The Bartenders purpose is to ensure the level of service provided to the guest is highly individualized and that each guest experiences the warmth and charm of The Gasparilla Inn.
Job Duties:
Adheres to the Gasparilla Inn 4 Steps to Memorable Service. Exhibit's the Gasparilla Inn's Core Values. Arrive for scheduled shift promptly and report to the Manager. Reports to work meeting the dress code and appearance standard set by the Inn such as name-tag and wine opener, etc. Ensure tables and side stands are set following the standards operating procedures. Always maintain a high level of personal hygiene. Participates in pre-shift meetings and tastings. Accountable for cash transactions & utilizes Point of Sales System. Maintain complete knowledge of all menu items, liquor brands, beers, drink recipes and non-alcoholic selections available in the assigned outlet. Maintain knowledge of the particular characteristics and description of every wine/champagne by the glass and all wines on the wine list. Maintain complete knowledge of designated glassware and garnishes for each drink. Maintain complete knowledge of and strictly abide by state liquor regulations, particularly those prohibiting service to minors, intoxicated persons and drunk driving. Ensure the organization & cleanliness of bars, workspaces & storage areas

Assist the beverage department with receiving, stocking and inventory of beer, wine, liquor and bar related products. Ensure that guests are served promptly and efficiently at all times. Build strong partner relationships with guests and members. Be hypersensitive to the needs & desires of guests & members. Anticipate needs by staying ahead of guest requests. Stays on assigned station throughout service observing and seeing to guests needs. Responsible for delivering a high level of service to guests & members. Contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of the department. Greets guests wishing them a pleasant morning/afternoon/evening. Advise Manager of all guests' complaints. Conduct self properly at all times. Maintain complete understanding of Employee Handbook. Attend training and meetings when requested. Maintain knowledge of company facilities and related services. Perform other reasonable duties requested by Food & Beverage Management. Perform all duties and responsibilities to the standards set by the company. Thorough knowledge of property, space, capacities and amenities of the Inn. All other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions and Assignments:
This is a physically active position and individuals can expect to work in a variety of environments both indoors and outdoors. This position is also required to work during nights, weekends and holidays. This position can expect to work a variety of shifts extending from early morning to late night (past midnight) hours.

This position will require an active driver license in order to be able to safely drive a golf cart and may have frequent exposure to outside weather conditions throughout the day. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Required:
Minimum age of 18 required to serve alcohol Food handling certificate Must have floor experience in a high-end resort or restaurant setting Must have exceptional interpersonal skills, empathize with others and value teamwork Must possess a hospitality mindset with a passion for creating memorable guest experiences Must believe that service is a noble profession and have the willingness to do the right thing Must have at least a basic knowledge of wine service and be well versed in various styles of spirits & beers.
Preferred:
Five years of experience in a high-end resort or restaurant setting Experience in a multi-faceted food and beverage setting i.e. fine & casual dining, banquets, room service, etc. Advanced wine training and knowledge is a plus.
