JOB DESCRIPTION
Assist in the wine program: curate, curate, and continuously refine a compelling wine list that complements our menu and enhances the guest experience.
Guest pairing and service:
provide elevated wine recommendations, glass pours, and bottle service with passionate, concierge-level service.
Inventory and procurement:
manage ordering, receiving, stock levels, cellar organization, and cost controls.
Team collaboration:
help train and mentor staff on wine knowledge, service standards, and responsible service of alcohol.
Compliance and standards:
ensure compliance with all licensing, health, and safety regulations; uphold cleanliness and organization of the wine cellar and service stations.
Guest experience:
build relationships with guests, maintain a memorable wine program experience that drives guest loyalty and positive reviews. What We're Looking For Education and credentials: advanced knowledge of wines; relevant certifications (e.g., WSET, Court of Master Sommeliers, CMS) are a plus.
Experience:
proven track record as a sommelier or wine program lead in a similar concept; experience with wine-list development, inventory management, and service excellence.
Palate and sourcing:
strong tasting ability, regional knowledge, and ability to source unique, high-quality wines within budget.
Service skills:
exceptional communication, presentation, and guest engagement; ability to suggest pairings and tell a compelling wine story.
Leadership:
ability to train staff, collaborate with kitchen and front-of-house teams, and lead tastings or events.
Technical:
proficiency with POS, inventory systems, and wine list pricing strategies; knowledge of pairing with our cuisine.
