Position Overview The Sommelier is a key ambassador of Amazónico Miami's wine culture, responsible for curating and guiding an exceptional beverage experience for our guests. This role requires deep knowledge of wines, champagnes, and spirits, combined with strong service skills to enhance the guest journey. The Sommelier will collaborate closely with the beverage director, floor managers, and service team to ensure seamless execution of our world-class wine program. Key Responsibilities Guest Experience Provide personalized wine recommendations that complement Amazónico's menu and enhance the guest journey. Lead tableside wine service, including decanting, pairing suggestions, and storytelling. Deliver warm, genuine, and professional interactions in line with Amazónico's hospitality standards. Wine Program Management Maintain expert knowledge of the global wine list, including rare and specialty selections. Support the Beverage Director in managing inventory, cellar organization, and supplier relationships. Assist in training FOH staff on wine knowledge, service standards, and pairing principles. Team Collaboration Work closely with servers and bartenders to ensure cohesive and knowledgeable beverage service. Contribute to pre-service briefings, menu updates, and staff tastings. Mentor junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and excellence. Operational Excellence Ensure accurate pouring, proper wine preservation, and compliance with storage protocols. Monitor wine sales and support strategies to achieve revenue targets. Maintain compliance with all health, safety, and licensing regulations. Qualifications Minimum 2-3 years of sommelier experience in luxury or fine dining environments. Formal wine education or certification preferred (CMS, WSET, or equivalent). Strong knowledge of Old World and New World wines, spirits, and food pairings. Passion for hospitality, with excellent communication and storytelling skills. Ability to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while maintaining refined service. Professional, polished appearance in line with luxury standards.
