Job Description

Sommelier - Lead Wine Service in a James Beard Recognized Fine Dining Program | Aria Aria Restaurant Atlanta 490 East Paces Ferry Road Northeast, Atlanta, GA Full Time • Weekly (Based on Experience) plus tips
Expires:
Jun 7, 2026 29 people viewed Required Years of Experience 2 years Job Details Aria is seeking an Assistant Sommelier to join our wine program in a role centered on service, building leadership, guest experience, and active contribution to a high-level fine dining beverage program. Recognized by the James Beard Foundation for Outstanding Hospitality, Aria is defined by disciplined service, consistency, and a deeply intentional approach to hospitality. Our dining room operates with clarity, precision, and accountability, where every detail of service is expected to be executed at a high standard. Our wine program extends beyond the classic wine list. We focus on wines of integrity—small producers, estate-driven vineyards, and growers committed to organic and biodynamic farming. These selections are curated with purpose, emphasizing authenticity, sense of place, and their role in the broader evolution of wine culture. This is a dual-role position. On the floor, you will take tables and you will also actively support wine service during dinner, helping guide guests through thoughtful selections and maintaining a smooth, confident service flow. When the Senior Sommelier is off or unavailable, you will step into a leadership role, running wine service on the floor and ensuring consistency and standards are upheld. You will work closely with the Senior Sommelier and wine team, supporting and collaborating in daily service execution. When the Senior Sommelier is off or unavailable, you are expected to fully lead wine service operations on the floor, maintaining consistency, pace, and standards without disruption. Beyond service, you will actively participate in structured tastings, ongoing wine education, and staff development. You will contribute meaningfully to wine list evolution, including producer selection, program refinement, and the continued shaping of our beverage direction. This role is intended for an operating Sommelier—not a trainee—who is confident in guest interaction, decisive under pressure, and capable of owning wine service in real time. At Aria, we prioritize precision over volume, intention over trend, and hospitality that is both highly refined and deeply human. We are seeking individuals who already operate at a high level and are looking to contribute to, and elevate, an established standard. ________________________________
