Based on expierence Position Summary Onwentsia Club is seeking a personable, dependable, and detail-oriented Bartender to join our food and beverage team. As a Bartender, you are a key part of the member experience—mixing and serving beverages with care, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and delivering the gracious, attentive service our members expect. The ideal candidate takes pride in their craft, works well in a fast-paced environment, and represents the Club with professionalism and discretion. Key Responsibilities Prepare and serve a full range of beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic drinks, following established recipes and Club standards. Provide friendly, attentive, and professional service to members and their guests, anticipating needs and building positive relationships. Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked bar area, including glassware, garnishes, and supplies. Verify guest age and responsibly monitor alcohol consumption in accordance with all applicable laws and Club policy. Accurately process member charges and transactions using the Club's point-of-sale system. Open and/or close the bar, including setup, breakdown, inventory checks, and end-of-shift reconciliation. Monitor and rotate inventory, communicate restocking needs, and help minimize waste. Maintain knowledge of the Club's menu, specials, and beverage offerings to make informed recommendations. Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards. Collaborate with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service. Maintain member privacy and uphold the confidential, professional culture of a private club. Qualifications Prior bartending experience preferred; private club, hotel, or fine-dining experience is a plus. Solid knowledge of classic cocktails, wine, and beer, with the ability to learn Club-specific offerings. Valid IL alcohol service certification (e.g., BASSET) or willingness to obtain before start date. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a polished, hospitality-focused demeanor. Reliable, punctual, and able to commit to the Wednesday-Sunday schedule, including holidays and busy summer dates. Must be at least 21 years of age. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and move for the duration of a shift. Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs (cases, kegs, supplies).
