Job Description
Sacma Header / Tapper Operator Job Description Pay starts at $28.86 plus $2.00 shift premium for all 2nd & 3rd shift hours worked General Summary The Sacma Header / Tapper Operator is responsible for producing a quality part that exceeds the customers' expectations through the utilization of tools and equipment provided. The Sacma Header / Tapper Operator will be responsible for performing various tasks to set-up, operate, monitor, troubleshoot and perform preventative maintenance on their assigned machines. They will also be responsible for inspecting parts to prints and making adjustments or tool changes as necessary to maintain the integrity of the part. Core Functions Set-up and operate machines in accordance with established procedures and guidelines Read and interpret blueprints Ability to effectively read/interpret calipers, micrometers, pin gauges and go/go-no gauges Ability to work in a fast paced work environment Ability to follow standardized work and adhere to safe work practices Problem solving & continuous improvement Ability to safely operate a powered industrial vehicle Ability to understand and use a computer Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel SPC checks Operate/monitor multiple pieces of equipment during operation to ensure quality production and minimal unplanned stops Details of Function Operation and set-up of all sacma headers / tappers (when assigned) Stocking the machines, including all necessary bins and wire Visually checking and gauging work at prescribed intervals, and reporting necessary machine adjustments to meet applicable specifications of blueprints Checking and dumping containers of production, moving all bins and replacing with new Have all set-ups verified by the Quality Department Pulling and qualifying all tooling for the next scheduled job Replenishing machine coolant supplies Filling out all production tickets, adding weight of product as well Keeping the plant and machines clean for basic safety precautions and good housekeeping Assisting Engineering and Maintenance in problem solving Assisting the Tool Crib Attendant in monitoring the Sacma Header / Tapper tooling Placing new and used wire in appropriate locations General housekeeping duties Continuous improvement within the plant Reviewing work instructions if absent from work for more than three (3) months Performing any other duties as required by the Supervisor to promote production efficiencies Understand and follow the Böllhoff culture which is described in various Böllhoff internal brochures and presentations. Identify and set an example of the Böllhoff Way including Our Values, Our Culture and Our Goals Reporting Reports directly to the Manufacturing Supervisor in Kendallville, IN Qualifications A minimum of one year of related experience is preferred and a high school diploma or equivalent is required. The ideal candidate will possess mechanical and problem-solving skills. A valid driver's license and a formal background check and drug screen will be required.
