We are are looking for Servers/Bartenders to join our team!
Scope & General Purpose:
The Server/Bartender plays a key role in creating a warm, energetic, and memorable guest experience at Rye. This position is responsible for delivering attentive and knowledgeable service while upholding the restaurant's high standards for hospitality, service execution, and team collaboration. This role requires strong product knowledge, clear communication, and the ability to move with efficiency and grace during busy service periods while maintaining the welcoming spirit that defines the Rye guest's experience. Hospitality & Guest Experience Consistently support a culture of hospitality for both guests and fellow team members. Approach service with warmth, curiosity, and genuine care for the guest experience. Consistently follow established steps of service with efficiency and grace while maintaining a sense of urgency throughout service. Anticipate guest needs and respond thoughtfully to ensure a seamless and welcoming dining experience. Maintain clear and consistent communication with guests, colleagues, management, and the kitchen throughout service. Maintain professionalism, composure, and a positive attitude in a fast-paced restaurant environment. Food & Beverage Knowledge Demonstrate expertise of all cocktail preparations, spirits selections, and food and beverage menu items with sound knowledge of ingredients and preparations. Maintain strong familiarity with the full food menu, including preparation methods, ingredients, and potential allergens in order to confidently guide guests through the dining experience. Provide thoughtful food and beverage recommendations and accurately answer guest questions about menu items. Ensure that all recipes, prep, product, cocktail preparations, and beverage execution meet the restaurant's specifications and commitment to excellence. Maintain consistency in beverage execution, presentation, and quality at all times. Safe Service & Compliance Uphold all health, sanitation, and food safety standards in accordance with local and state health codes. Demonstrate awareness of food allergens and dietary restrictions, communicating clearly with guests and the kitchen to ensure safe service. Follow all responsible alcohol service practices and applicable alcohol service laws, including verifying guest age and monitoring guest intoxication. Maintain safe and responsible service practices that prioritize the wellbeing of guests and staff. Service & Operations Maintain high standards of cleanliness and appearance throughout all areas of the bar and restaurant both before, during, and after service. Support smooth service flow by communicating clearly with teammates and assisting where needed. Maintain awareness of the dining room and bar environment to ensure guests receive timely and attentive service. Complete opening, closing, and side work duties as required to support daily operations. Previous experience in the hospitality industry in a similar service-oriented restaurant or bar environment. Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively and professionally with guests. Solid knowledge of cocktails, spirits, wine, and restaurant service fundamentals. Familiarity with TOAST POS
is a plus. Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently in a busy bar environment. Strong attention to detail and ability to remain organized during high-volume service. Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by business needs. A positive, upbeat, and energetic attitude - leading by example Comfortable standing/walking for 8+ hours, and be able to bend, push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs.
