The Barn Attendant cares for the livestock at Stillwater Farm (Which is located on the Protectowire Co. property) Typical shifts are 8AM-12PM & 12PM-4PM. Weekend work is expected as well.

Primary Responsibilities:

Monitors Food and water supply for horses, goats, chickens, birds, bunny and cat Administer medication as directed Upkeep of stalls and enclosures including mucking stalls, refreshing/refilling water frequently, raking, blowing, checking fences are secure Collecting and cleaning eggs Grooming Exercising animals/turning them out to pasture Mucking pastures General barn care including cleaning of tack room, oiling the tack and gear, cleaning the carriage de-cobwebbing Ensuring the feed room is full and clean Ordering shavings and hay as needed and scheduling delivery Ordering supplements for the horse grain Calling the farrier when appointments need to be changed/rescheduled Beehive installation and upkeep Checking Koi pond when needed Emptying barn trash

Physical Requirements:

Continuous standing, walking, shoulder/elbow/wrist flexion, extension, and rotation Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Walk or run for long periods of time. Repeat the same movements Frequent

•reaching, pulling, bending, stooping, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Kneeling, pushing, pulling, crouching and twisting

Education and Experience Requirements:

Minimum of three years of equestrian/riding experience Ability to read, interpret and follow work instructions and safety procedures Skilled in using tack and equipment Handle animals in a humane and compassionate manner Use tact, initiative, prudence, and independent judgment within general policy and procedural guidelines

Ability to communicate effectively Establish, maintain, and foster positive and effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work Note
