Status:

Part time, 10-25 hours/week.

Job Description:

Serve Pitt Street Brewing Company craft beers and mixed drinks in the tasting room. Be able to answer questions and make recommendations regarding our beer and mixed beverage selections. Sell Pitt Street Brewing Company merchandise. Be knowledgeable about Pitt Street Brewing Company's beer and brewing process to share with customers. Also, be able to discuss the elements of craft beer to patrons. Be willing to be trained on the art and science of craft brewing and craft beers. Record drink orders accurately and immediately into the Point of Sale system. Serve guest in accordance with Responsible Alcohol Service. Accept guest payment, process credit card charges and make change, if applicable. Clean bar area and glassware. Wash and sterilize glassware. Clear and reset tables and clean bathrooms in tasting room. Maintain cleanliness in all areas of the bar including counters, sinks, utensils, shelves and storage areas, etc. Perform the restocking and replenishment of inventory and supplies. Report all equipment problems and bar maintenance issues to manager. Be familiar with Pitt Street Brewing Company promotions, sales and assist with special events and festivals. Complete opening and closing duties as outlined by manager. Demonstrate the ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner.

Qualifications:

• Meet the minimum North Carolina age requirement to serve alcohol
• Possess a valid State of North Carolina approved server training certification and/or be willing to successfully complete training provided by Pitt Street Brewing Company
• Strong knowledge of tasting room operations and service procedures
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Possess basic math skills, possess the ability to handle money and operate a cash register
• Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours) and climb up and down steps, bend, lift and twist up to 25lbs
• Punctual and regular, reliable attendance
• Honesty and Integrity
• Basic computer skills and knowledge
• Experience with an iPad and/or POS system is a plus
• Ability to work quickly, problem solve and think on your feet while maintaining poise in a fast-paced environment
• Positive, infectious attitude and sense of humor
• Personable, kind, and customer service oriented
• Passion for the service industry, desire to be part of a team and work hard, high level of self-awareness and long-term view of success
• Well-versed in: beer history; brewing techniques; preparation techniques, styles, flavor profiles or possess a willingness to learn Education and/or

Experience:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent required
• Industry experience, as a server is preferred
• Equivalent combination of education and experience
